Day 1 - 5

Makassar - Toraja | 4 Nights

Day 1 | Makassar

Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport, our driver will greet you and lead the transfer to Hotel in Makassar for overnight stay.

Overnight in Makassar

Day 2  | Makassar – Toraja by Flight

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Hasanuddin International airport for your flight to Palopo.

Upon arrival in Palopo, your guide will pick you up and you can enjoy a 3-hour drive including break stops. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the mountains, hills, and beyond as well as ocean. Once you arrive at Toraja region, simple local lunch will be served at Local Restaurant.

After lunch, you will visit one of the oldest traditional villages in Toraja, Kete Kesu. It is not only known for the old Tongkonan and rice barns but also for its colorful woodcarving. The next discovery is Karuaya traditional village. Finally, transfer to your hotel

Day 3  | Full day Excursion at Toraja (I)

Starting your day with a simple breakfast at your hotel.

Then your guide will take you to Londa, the natural cave-graveyard and if you are lucky you can see the locals busy with the wood carving. Continue to Lemo where we can see the hanging graves and to see rows of “tau-tau” statues.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant viewing to the rice-fields. Continue to visit the baby’s graves in the huge tree at Kambira and then to Tampangallo with its natural caves. From this place, we have a short walk to the royal family tombs at Suaya located in the bamboo forest. Dinner is served at local restaurant.

Overnight in Rantepao

Day 4  | Full day Excursion at Toraja (II)

Another full day excursion around Toraja. You will start with a walk at Pasar Bolu (open on Tuesday & Saturday) – a walk along the local products of Toraja. You can see the local farmers selling their Coffee, Cloves, Cacao, Nutmeg, and other spices. You will also learn the different types of rice at market. Early morning is the best time to visit Market as the farmers from Rantepao and surroundings bring their cattle like water buffaloes, pigs, cocks to this market to sell.

Drive to Batutumonga from where we can overlook the panoramic view and a breathtaking view over Rantepao and the surrounding valley. Upon arrival in Batutumonga, enjoy soft trekking or hiking (Depending on the age of clients) to a remote village to encounter daily local activities with local people. Passing through the village, en-route to see rice terrace, Bamboo forest, Typical Torajan House, tropical coffee trees owned.

Back to Rantepao for lunch at a local restaurant where Traditional Torajan food is served. Continue to visit Bori to see the megalith stones. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Rantepao

Day 5 | Back to Makassar

After early breakfast, your guide will pick you up for the transfer back to Palopo airport for your flight back to Makassar and continue your journey to the next destination.
